Update 3 - Journal entry on a homage to General Manuel Piar

[This is a journal entry on a homage to General Manuel Piar. The unknown author is largely thought to have circulated this in local Nueva Granadan newspapers with the mestizos and other minority groups in mind as the intended audience.]

It has been a long time, but it still feels like yesterday.

He fought for us, the mestizos. He fought for the chance to make us equals with the white criollos. He fought all the way until the very end. He fought for peace, but was mistakenly perceived to have fought for violence.

Then, Bolivar was no longer a Manuel Piar. Bolivar made Manuel Piar no longer. Bolivar made bravery no more and cowardice no less. As the firing squad spilled Piar’s blood, Bolivar cried and proclaimed “I have spilled my own!”

Who will be there to represent us mestizos now? Our beloved Manuel Piar had his life taken away from him and with it our fight for our generations.

We must not let the criollos throw us around like muñeca de trapo. We are all Manuel Piars’. We are the mestizos. We are the fixers of Nueva Granada.

The fire has been dampened, but the glowing embers will be fiery once more.

Mestizos, with you, for you.

¿Cuál es tu propuesta? ¿Para construir una ciudad justa? Voy a.

Estoy de acuerdo. ¿O es el pacto suicida, el romántico

          ¿Muerte? Muy bien, acepto, por

Soy tu elección, tu decisión. Sí, soy los mestizos.
